(March 22,2021) Update from with Debbie

Dear family and friends,

Thank you so much for your ongoing prayers and support for this cancer journey.  I had an appointment on March 17th and by God’s grace the scans and blood work continue to report that the cancer is stable. Praise to God who has been walking with me every step of this journey and has carried me through some difficult times.

I have had increasing pancreatic pain and after several months of not needing pain medication I am back on medication once again. The pain is either from the inflammation caused by the cancer or from the side effects of treatment. Either way we are working on getting this pain under control.  I have had a bit of improvement in my hips with less stiffness for which I am thankful.  The cough I had for several weeks is now gone. My energy level tends to come and go but generally speaking when my pancreatic pain is under control, I feel pretty good.

As we know, life is filled with many twists and turns and a new challenge has come to our journey with Patrick experiencing severe pain in his upper right leg.  He has had many sleepless nights and long days filled with great pain.  We are working with the doctors to get to the root of his pain, but so far doctors say everything is “normal”.  Prayers for him and this new twist in our journey are greatly appreciated.

Please let us know how we can be praying for you.  We consider it a blessing to be able to bring your needs to the Lord.

I get treatment every three weeks but more detailed updates are available about every 6 weeks; I will send out an update then.

Our encouragement… “the Lord delights in those who fear Him, who put their hope in His unfailing love.”

(Psalm 147:11)

Blessings in the Lord,

Debbie

    1. Thank you Elwin and Marianne,
Yes, we are feeling a bit overwhelmed right now and are always competing for the heating pads and ice packs! I am just so thankful we have the Lord who goes before us. We are so blessed and though we suffer we have so many comforts and resources compared to others around the world. Hope you all are keeping well.
      Love to you both,
      Debbie

  3. Dear Debbie and Patrick,Thank you so much for your update! I am glad to hear that the cancer is stable. Yes, we will continue to pray for your complete healing. What a strange thing about Patrick’s pain in his upper leg! Whole everything is normal? Maybe there is a pinched nerve. John suggests that he should see a chiro practer to loosen up the nerve?I had about 4 years ago a strange feeling in my left arm as if I could not use my arm. A couple days later it went through my complete left part of my body.It looked like I was paralyzed! So my doctor send me to a neurologist. And he diagnosed me that I had a pinched nerve in my left part of the neck. With therapy the nerve was corrected. For so far we are doing fine for some minor aches and pains 😁 We both got our covid 19 vaccins.Aruba has her 3rd covid wave 😷We do have church with an attendance of average 35 to 38 people attending  We are singing with our face masks on. Very tiresome !May the Lord strengthen you in body, mind, sole and spirit! With love from John & EdithSent from my Galaxy

    1. Thank you Edith,
We are seeing a physiatrist Monday and a PT tomorrow. Hopefully they will find the root of the issue. Patrick is really suffering and it came out of no where. Thank you for your prayers and you both are doing amazing. Continued blessings over you!

  4. Dear Patrick & Debbie,
So appreciated your update and will continue to pray for you BOTH, as Patrick has this terrible pain, without the understanding or reasons behind it! May the prayer in this verse bring some comfort! to you both…”But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen and settle you. To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever, Amen”

We send our love and prayers,

  5. Dear Debbie & Patrick, Thank you for your update this week. We are thankful with you for your continued “stable” report, Debbie, but are sorry for your pancreatic pain again. And so very sorry for Patrick’s severe pain in his leg :(. I read that on Facebook and I hope he is feeling prayed for, but more importantly, we pray for God’s healing for him, and if that be through medical intervention, that his doctors will help him. Especially with pain med. for now anyway, to get it under control, just as you are using it for, and to be able to sleep. SO sorry and feeling for you both, and your girls who must hurt so much for you both. But God bless them too, for being there with you and helping you. We pray for God’s will to be improvements for each of you, and SOON!! Sending hugs with our Love & prayers, Vicky & Gary

    1. Thank you Vicky for your words of concern and encouragement. Patrick saw a PT today which has been very helpful. He has something going on in his L3, L4 and L5 in his spine. Perhaps some deterioration. We will Lord willing find out more on Monday. Thank you for your prayer. Blessings! Debbie
