(8-2-2021) Mission Accomplished

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers,  they will not sweep over you. Isaiah 43:2

We had a successful surgical procedure today.  Thank you for your prayers.

As suspected, there was a biliary (liver) tract obstruction and a pancreas obstruction.

The doctors were able to insert two stents: one into the liver bile duct and the other into the pancreatic duct, which will open up the area to permit backed up G.I. fluids to move.

After the procedure, I was able to drink and eat some watermelon and applesauce in the car as we drove home.

When I got home, Patrick helped me get settled in bed and I slept for four hours.  I woke up feeling pretty good.   So, thank you for your continued prayers for post-operation progress.

I will follow up in a couple days with my medical team to check the liver enzymes numbers and see how everything is responding.

Thanks again for your encouragement and support.

Firmly in His grip,

Debbie (with Patrick)

  1. I was praying! Glad to hear they could do something and will pray you see and feel a difference as the enzyme count lowers and your organs can function better!
    Love you!

  2. Dear Debbie,

I am so happy the surgery was successful and doctors were able to discover the source of the blockages and also fix them. I trust this will help you consume food as desired!! I pray for pain relief and that the new areas of cancer will be suppressed. I admire your continued trust in the Lord and it is a testimony of God’s faithfulness. Thank you for your timely updates.

I’m so grateful for the safe procedure today. It’s still a journey, but I’m continuing to pray for you daily as you travel this difficult path. Knowing that our Loving Lord is guiding each step and is with you every moment – that is huge.

Thank you for keeping us informed. I love you and will continue to pray for you, for Patrick, and for all the family.

    Much love to you!

  5. Dear Patrick & Debbie, We were so encouraged to hear this good report, and you were often on our minds and in our prayers. We trust that this will bring some blessed relief, along with God’s forward path for you. This is a really old chorus…but came to mind…..”God knows the way through the Wilderness, all I have to do is follow, Strength for today is mine all way, and all that I need for tomorrow!” “Day by Day” is another old Hymn with great lyrics as well. May you know His strength and path daily. We are excited to be able to drive down to see Shell & Amy and family at the Coast this next week…after a year and a half away from being with them! Love, Jim & Becky

  7. Thank you so much for the “immediate” update! When we returned from our walk yesterday morning, I mentioned that Debbie would be starting her procedure. Then Mack reminded me of the time change.

    Love you both,

  9. Dear Debbie, we are very thankful with you for your successful procedure on Monday and we hope you have had good days since then and have been able to eat, “to your great pleasure!” 🙂 We know you need more calories to boost your health. Praying also for your liver numbers to normalize and your symptoms to subside, so you can have more good days, by God’s mercy and grace. Sending you and Patrick our hugs and prayers, with our Love!! ~ Vicky & Gary
